Irritable bowel syndrome IBS affects so many people that gastroenterologists around the world say that half their patients come in with IBS symptoms. You may know IBS as stomach trouble, or spastic colon, or colitis, or nervous stomach.
And, many, many of those patients do not respond to typical treatments. Gastroenterologists who recommend hypnotherapy report that it has helped their patients.
Health researchers in England have been studying IBS and hypnotherapy for quite some time, and now their colleagues in U.S.A are doing the same..The results are so astonishing that Adriane Fugh-Berman,M.D of Washington,D.C. has said ,
"IBS should be treated with hypnotherapy."
Not only does Hypnotherapy provide quick relief from symptoms, but in one clinical trial the doctors checked on patients 6 years after their hypnotherapy and found that 75 percent of the patients were still feeling fine.
Birmingham, Alabama, hypnotherapist Melissa J. Roth has been treating IBS for a long while. Jackie is one of her typical clients in that she did not think Hypnotherapy would help alleviate her symptoms, but she tried because she had suffered enough. After two sessions Jackie reported, "i actually got out with my family and went a few places for the first time in four years." After a few more sessions she was able to stop her medications, and became symptom-free.
